Your wedding is a day you will remember for a lifetime. It’s also a day you’ve likely been looking forward to since you were a child. So, you want to pick a location that will bring all those dreams to life and one that you love bringing to memory for years after.

The location of the actual ceremony may depend some on your religious background — with some faiths requiring a wedding inside their place of worship — but the reception afterwards is generally in a beautiful banquet hall or a scenic outdoor location. Others, however, will do the entire event, both wedding and reception, at the same location.

In the northern suburbs of Chicago, we have some truly amazing options for venues. To simplify things, we will list a few that can be used for both weddings and receptions — although we know there are some gorgeous churches and synagogues in the area too.

The Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club: This country club in Hoffman Estates has everything taken care of for you. They have catering already on site, a dedicated event planner to help you with all the details and a beautiful white gazebo (seen above) to say “I do” under.

Astoria Banquets and Events: The 2020 Best Weddings winner at “The Knot,” this Buffalo Grove banquet hall has it all. They handle decorations, catering and even the wedding cake. When the day is done, they will also shuttle you and your guests to area hotels.

Chez Hotel: Are you looking for a rooftop option? The Chez Hotel, a boutique hotel in Arlington Heights, has you covered. They also have a grand ballroom, and if you don’t want to worry about traveling between your hotel and your venue, they have you covered there too since they are a working hotel.

Cotillion Banquets: This Palatine banquet venue has multiple rooms to choose from, all of them stunning. There is an onsite kitchen staff to provide you with tasty dinner and dessert options for your special night, too.

Redfield Estate at The Grove: The Grove is a nature preserve and National Historic Landmark in Glenview. On site, there is a 1930s stone home, called the Redfield Estate, which is on the Knot’s Hall of Fame for wedding venues. If you are looking for a rustic, yet elegant, venue, with both indoor and outdoor options, take a look at The Grove.

Other thoughts for a wedding reception in the northern Chicago suburbs

Locations for your wedding and reception are obviously major items to check off your list. But there are other things to consider, too, like a good wedding photographer and some entertainment.

Some reputable photographers in the area include Y&K Photography (a husband and wife team with over a decade’s experience), Eric Gee Photography (run by an award-winning local photographer), and Visual Etiquette

For entertainment, we’d love for you to consider Triangle Lawn Games of Chicago as part of your day’s festivities.
